Who pays for shipping

Online Purchase

You've chosen your dress online, and the dress is with an online seller.

After an items' online sale between individuals, it will be necessary to ship the items.

Shipping fees are the responsibility of the buyer and are paid in addition to the final sale price of the item.

Pay attention:

– Sellers are responsible for safely shipping the item, charging the correct shipping type, and providing a shipment tracking code.

– Buyers are responsible for paying for shipping and any additional fees;

– Aconselhamos o envio com pagamento à cobrança e com um seguro do valor do artigo.

Mandatory for the buyer:

– Pay for shipping;

– Send the correct address at the time of payment;

– Paying any extra fees or customs duties;

Mandatory for the seller:

– Provide a tracking code that can be viewed online.

Not Allowed:

– Changing of the shipping address by the buyer after payment;

– Ask the seller to ship with no insurance;

– Ask the seller to price the item with a lower value or as a "gift" to avoid fees;

– Refuse to pay customs duties. This may result in the loss of payment and the item.

The final price to ship an item can depend on various factors:

– Buyers' location

– Sellers' location

– Item's weight and size

– Final sale price

– Carrier

– Shipping with fixed or variable rates based on weight

– Some sellers include fixed shipping fees as part of their listing

How to weight your item at home

On average, a dress weighs around 3kg, but of course, this greatly depends on the item.

– Use a bathroom scale and note the weight.

– Now weigh yourself again with the dress in your hands next to your body and write down the weight.

– Subtract the first weight from the second weight and you will obtain the final weight of the item

– Round the weight and consider the packaging weight when estimating the price

Variable rate shipping

If the seller doesn't include shipping or describes a flat rate in the listing description, simply contact the seller and request a price for your location.

Obtaining shipping quotes requires some effort such as time, travel, quotes, etc. Practice common sense and make sure, as the buyer, that you ask all questions about the item first before asking for a final shipping price.

Using the correct shipping method keeps everyone protected during the shipment process.

Make sure you use a shipping service that includes:

– Provide a tracking code that can be viewed online;

– Signature on delivery;

– Insurance coverage for the full sale value.

Tracking

Sharing tracking details helps keep buyers informed about the whereabouts of the shipment and prevents premature refund requests. Providing tracking details is a standard practice and something that buyers expect nowadays. Tracking data allows buyers to know where the package is during the delivery process and can be helpful in cases where the buyer claims not to have received the item.

Insurance

It might be tempting, but if you don't add insurance, both parties could end up without the item or payment.

In the unlikely event that the shipment is lost in transit or sustains significant damage, the insurance covers both the buyer and the seller for the cost of the sale. The seller receives payment from the insurance, and the buyer's claim is reimbursed. Check the terms with each carrier for details.
