What can I advertise and sell online?

At the moment, only wedding dresses are accepted at Bridal Stories for online sale.

We accept:

– Wedding dresses of all styles, sizes and colors;

– New wedding dresses, not worn;

– New wedding dresses, not worn, but which have already had "another owner";

– Worn wedding dresses, in good condition;

– Vintage wedding dresses, worn or not worn;

– Sample wedding dresses, owned by stores, stylists or worn for photoshoots.

We do not accept:

– Ceremony dresses;

– Bridesmaids' dresses;

– Mother-of-the-bride or groom's dresses;

– Groom's suits;

– Accessories;

– Any type of store credit/vouchers;

– Items that infringe copyright and counterfeit items;

Counterfeit items

Any ads with counterfeit items will be removed and the user's account will be suspended without prior notice without any right to a refund.

Banned brands

To ensure the quality level and avoid disappointing buyers, certain brands and dresses purchased or originating from these websites are not accepted:

How to advertise?

Each ad can only contain one item or one dress.

To create an ad, click on "Sell" and follow these steps:

– Escolhe o tipo de anúncio

– Register at our website

– Follow the steps of our form

– Insert the item's data and photos no nosso formulário

– Pay for the ad

If there is any problem with it, we will contact you.

A publicação ocorre 48h após aprovação e pagamento. 

If the publication is rejected, the paid amount will be refunded.

How to describe the item?

Follow the guidelines below:

Detail. The more detailed the description, the more likely your dress is to sell.

Honesty. List all defects or stains. A dress with no surprises is easier to sell.

Cleaning. Explain whether the item has been professionally cleaned and whether there are any visible stains or spots.

Interior tagExplain whether the item has its interior tag. It is important to have information on cleaning afterwards and the authenticity of the item.

Modifications. No formulário menciona as alterações que foram feitas, peças adicionadas ou retiradas.

When will my ad go online?

Your ad will be subject to prior curatorship. 

The item will be subject to analysis regarding different criteria: Adherence to online terms and conditions, quality of the description, quality of images, control of information, conservation status, age, finishings, style, brand, commercial value and probability of sale.

Our online curatorship includes changes and suggestions for improvement of the ad to be published.

If there is any problem with it, we will contact you.

Publication occurs 48 hours after approval. 

How long will my ad stay online?

Since our ads work on a monthly subscription basis, ads are available for as long as you want, by renewing the monthly subscription for 30 consecutive days.

How long until I sell my dress?

O tempo de venda de um vestido depende muito da procura em determinada altura, e pode incluir fatores como tendências, tamanhos, acabamentos, preço e condição do vestido. 

How can I sell faster?

– Be honest when it comes to the item's description and include as much information as possible;

– Improve your item's description, we always send suggestions before publishing and you can ask us for help;

– Check whether you haven't made any spelling mistakes or errors in the item's description, brand, size, etc;

– Check your email and add Bridal Stories' address to your contacts so that you can get notifications on your e-mail without them ending up in the spam folder;

– Add a photo of you to your profile, this puts a face on the sales process;

– Upload complete, quality photos of your item;

– Answer all requests (items with no interaction for the last 12 consecutive months will be deleted);

– Answer promptly, within 2 days, to keep the buyer interested;

– Clean and wash the item professionally and keep the receipt as proof.

How much can my dress be worth?

We recommend that you apply competitive prices to boost sales.

Does Bridal Stories get a commission from online sales?

No.

Should I let the buyer try on my dress?

Se a compradora já fez várias perguntas e se demonstra realmente interessada, a possibilidade de experimentar é o próximo passo numa possível venda. 

Pensa como podes organizar um encontro com sucesso, com tempo e num espaço adequado dentro das tuas possibilidades. Tem em conta regras básicas de segurança e apenas faz este encontro se sentires que é seguro.

O que é a condição e estado do vestido?

Items are ranked into 3 online categories, as follows:

New, not worn – Item that has never been worn, is new, and is in excellent condition. New items usually have the original tag and have not been altered (adjusted). Items must not have odors, defects, holes, stains or repairs, missing parts and must be fully functional and ready to sell.

Worn, as new – Item that was worn once and is as new. Is professionally washed and remains in very good condition. The items must not have odors, defects, holes, stains or repairs, missing parts and must be fully functional and ready to sell as is.

Worn, with flaws – Item worn once, is professionally washed, remains in good condition but shows some signs of wear. These items may show signs of minor wear and include small flaws in inconspicuous or obvious parts that don't affect the general look of the piece and remain in good condition, for example: worn or stained hem, some raised lines. The items must not present problems on its front, nor odors, defects, holes, stains or repairs, missing parts and must be fully functional and ready to sell as is.

Should I clean and/or repair my item first?

Yes, just as you bought the item in good condition and shone on your day, you should sell the dress in the best possible conditions and make the next bride shine.

Lavar o teu artigo a seco é a forma de o melhor preservar e mostrar o seu potencial tal como na primeira vez. Recomendamos uma limpeza profissional antes de listares o teu artigo online. Tal como o teu vestido deve ser visto como um investimento, este é um investimento prévio que deves considerar para vender o teu vestido mais rapidamente e, acima de tudo, conservá-lo.

Look for a professional cleaning company in your area. Give preference to local businesses, thus avoiding long journeys, support smaller, family-run businesses that need to see their value recognized; and green cleaning methods, thus reducing your environmental impact. 

Ask relatives or friends for recommendations or contact us.

Repairs

Um artigo usado pode apresentar por vezes marcas de uso. Preferencialmente estas falhas devem ser corrigidas antes de listares o teu artigo online, especialmente problemas que afetem visualmente e funcionalmente o vestido, como por exemplo: rasgões, fecho zip que não funciona, peças em falta como pedraria, partes descosidas de bainhas, botões, rendas, costuras abertas, etc.
Caso não sejam reparados deves listar estas falhas.

Algumas dicas para obteres melhores resultados com a tua submissão

A foto principal deve ser vertical e mostrar o vestido na sua totalidade.

Usa fotografias originais e não screenshots;

Evita fotografias de catálogo. As clientes gostam de ver fotografias reais;

Evita marcas de água, links de website e molduras;

Coloca fotografias relativas aos pormenores (rendas, bordados, etc.);

Fotografa o teu vestido num fundo clean sem sobreposição de outros artigos.
